Ingredients
For the dough:
  • flour 150 g
  • cocoa 40-50 g
  • cinnamon 1 tsp
  • butter (chilled) 80 g
  • sugar 80 g
  • eggs (only yolks) 2 pcs
  • cold water 2-3 tbsp
For filling:
  • cherries/sweet cherries 300 g
  • dark chocolate 200 g
  • butter (melted) 70 g
  • eggs 2 pcs
  • sugar/sugar powder 40 g
  • punch of salt
  • sugar/nuts/berries/leaves of meant for serving

Instructions
Prepare the base of the pie:
  1. Mix all the dry ingredients: flour, cocoa, cinnamon and sugar.
  2. Add egg yolks, cooled butter and cold water to the dry mass - mix everything until smooth with the help of a mixer/combine with tip "hook" or spatula/ by hands.The dough should be soft and NOT sticky.
  3. Cover the finished dough with cling film and leave it in the refrigerator while preparing the filling.
Prepare the filling/filling for the pie:
  1. Combine butter and chocolate in a bowl - melt in pulses (in the microwave for 15 sec) until the mass is smooth.
  2. Separate eggs into whites and yolks
  3. Beat the egg whites with a pinch of salt until stiff and the yolks - beat with sugar until fluffy and increase the volume of the mass.
  4. Add the chocolate mass to the beaten egg yolks and mix, then add the beaten egg whites in parts and gently mix until smooth.
Assembly of the сake:
  1. Take the cooled dough out of the refrigerator and roll it out to a thickness of 3-4 mm
  2. Transfer the rolled out dough in a baking dish, prick it with a fork and place the berries there.
  3. Pour everything with chocolate filling and transfer it to the oven, preheated to 180 degrees for 40-50 min, until the pie is ready
  4. Cool the finished cake on a wire rack, carefully remove it from the mold, sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve with coffee or hot tea
Notes

All the ingredients for the dough should be cold, and for the filling - at room temperature.

In order to make it easier to transfer the dough to the baking form, it is advisable to do it on parchment or a silicone mat.

Before putting the dough on the baking form, you can grease it with oil/butter so that it would be easier to take out the finished cake later.

All ingredients can be changed and adapted to your taste preferences:

  • chocolate (milk, white, with nuts)

  • butter (oil, coconut oil)

  • sugar (any sweetener)

  • any berries instead of cherries, and you can use frozen ones.

The cake tastes similar to a brownie, so it can be served hot with a scoop of ice cream.
